entre, fins a, cap a

Between, Until and Toward

Level 2

Entre is between, fins a is until or as far as, and cap a is toward.

How It Works

Each phrase answers a different question.

PhraseMeaningExample
entre ... ebetweenentre Tolosa e Albi
fins auntil; as far asfins a deman; fins al mercat
cap atowardcap a Tolosa

Use e between the two places that come after entre. After fins a, the preposition a joins the article as usual: fins al mercat (as far as the market). The difference between the last two matters. Anam cap a Tolosa says that you are heading toward Toulouse. Anam fins a Tolosa says that Toulouse is where you stop. Write e, not the French et.
