Doing It Together

Level 2Sounds Like sam̐gai

सँगै is together. It can stand alone or follow a person.

How It Works

सँगै has two common uses.

UseExample
Alone, for a groupहामी सँगै जान्छौँ।
After a personम साथीसँगै बजार गएँ।

On its own, it is a separate word, and it comes before the verb: हामी सँगै खाना खाऔँ (let us eat together).

After a person, it joins the noun. साथीसँगै means together with my friend. It is a stronger form of सँग, which just means with.

सँगै can also mean at the same time: हामी सँगै आयौँ can mean we came at the same moment. Together is the main idea.

The word does not change with the doer. Usually place it before the verb and after the subject.
