मे
In or Inside
मे comes after a noun and means in.
How It Works
मे means in or inside. It comes after the noun.
| Maithili | Meaning |
|---|---|
| घर मे | in the house |
| पटना मे | in Patna |
| झोरा मे | in the bag |
| बरखा मे | in the rain |
The noun stays the same. Hindi turns कमरा into कमरे before में, but Maithili keeps the plain noun.
मे also works with time: साँझ मे (in the evening), जाड़ मे (in the winter).
Write मे as a separate word with no dot above it. The Hindi spelling में is a different word in a different language.
For on or at, use पर. For from, use सँ.
