Numbers One to Ten
еден, два, три, четири, пет, шест, седум, осум, девет, десет. Еден becomes една or едно, and два becomes две, to match the noun.
How It Works
The numbers.
- 1 еден / една / едно
- 2 два / две
- 3 три
- 4 четири
- 5 пет
- 6 шест
- 7 седум
- 8 осум
- 9 девет
- 10 десет
One agrees with the noun, as in One and A: еден брат (masculine), една сестра (feminine), едно кафе (neuter).
Two has two forms: два for masculine nouns and две for feminine and neuter nouns: два дена, две жени, две кафиња. Check the gender first with Noun Gender.
Three to ten never change: три книги, пет деца, десет села.
Two things to notice later.
- Some masculine nouns take a special ending after a number: два дена, not два денови. This is the count form in Count Forms After Numbers.
- Men and mixed groups of people are counted with двајца, тројца, as in Counting Men and Mixed Groups.
Numbers from eleven up are in Numbers Above Ten.
