や
Regional Japanese: Noun and Na-adjective Predicates
Casual や links a noun or na-adjective predicate to its subject in Kansai and Hakata speech.
How It Works
今日は休みや states that today is a day off; この部屋は静かや describes the room. A verb such as 行く and an i-adjective such as 暑い do not need や.
The familiar past is やった and a conditional can use やったら. These are copula forms, not the lexical verb やる.
Keep です/ます when politeness is appropriate. Regional speech and polite Japanese are compatible; や is not a compulsory accent marker on every sentence.
