Reported Speech: sị and kwuru
who + sị or kwuru + na + clause.
How It Works
The words sị and kwuo “say” report speech.
| Say | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Ada sịrị na ọ ga-abịa. | Ada said that she will come. |
| O kwuru na ọ dị mma. | He or she said it is fine. |
| Ha sịrị na ha ga-abịa echi. | They said that they will come tomorrow. |
The speech follows na and keeps its own tense. The past of sị is sịrị and of kwuo is kwuru. This sị is not the si “from” of an earlier lesson.
