ga-: Will
Subject + ga- + verb: Anyị ga-eri nri.
How It Works
Ga- is the helper for the future. It works like na-.
| Example | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Ọ ga-abịa echi. | He or she will come tomorrow. |
| Anyị ga-eri nri. | We will eat. |
| Ha ga-agụ akwụkwọ. | They will read. |
| Aga m abịa. | I will come. |
The negative is gaghị. The pronoun before ga- is ọ or ị, because the helper starts with a. With the verb ga “go”, the helper and the verb look alike: Ọ ga-aga “he or she will go”.
