Facing or Opposite
के सामने means in front of, opposite or facing, and also in someone's presence.
How It Works
के सामने describes something that faces or is opposite a reference point:
(There's a pharmacy opposite the hospital).
(The bus stops in front of my house).
With people, it means in their presence: (Don't talk like that in front of the children). सबके सामने means in front of everyone.
The noun changes as before any postposition: Pronouns take the possessive form:
Alone, सामने means opposite or straight ahead: दुकान बिलकुल सामने है (The shop is right across the road). With वाला it describes a place: सामने वाली दुकान (the shop opposite).
के सामने is about facing; के आगे is about being ahead in a line or on a road. In a queue, say मेरे आगे; across a road, say मेरे सामने.
