წვიმს/თოვს
Weather
Weather verbs need no subject: წვიმს means it's raining.
How It Works
English needs it in it's raining. Georgian does not: the verb alone is a full sentence.
| Georgian | English |
|---|---|
| წვიმს | it's raining |
| თოვს | it's snowing |
| ცხელა | it's hot |
| თბილა | it's warm |
| ცივა | it's cold |
| ქარი ქრის | the wind is blowing |
You can add a place, a time or ძალიან (very): დღეს ძალიან ცხელა (it's very hot today).
For the weather in general, use ამინდი (weather): ხვალ ცივი ამინდი იქნება (tomorrow the weather will be cold).
ცივა and ცხელა describe the air. For how a person feels, use მცივა (I'm cold) and მცხელა (I'm hot).
