certe, bone, ne gravas
Short Replies
Short words can be a whole reply.
How It Works
| Say | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| certe | certainly | Ĉu vi venos? Certe! |
| kompreneble | of course | Ĉu vi ŝatas la urbon? Kompreneble! |
| bone | all right | Ni manĝos nun. Bone! |
| ne gravas | it does not matter | Pardonu! Ne gravas. |
| tute ne | not at all | Ĉu vi estas laca? Tute ne. |
The plain answers to a ĉu question are jes and ne. The short words above add a little more: Jes, certe! is a warm yes.
After a short reply you can add a full sentence: Certe, mi venos. Ne gravas tells the other person that nothing is wrong, for example after an apology.
