تشکر و ببخشید

Thank You and Excuse Me

Level 1

Dari says تشکر for thanks; ممنون and مرسی belong to Iran.

How It Works

These two words keep a talk polite. تشکر says thank you. ببخشید says excuse me and sorry.

SayMeaning
تشکرthanks
بسیار تشکرthank you very much
تشکر از شماthank you (to someone you call شما)
ببخشیدexcuse me, sorry

Say them tashakkur and bibakhshēd. Add a name or a title for someone you respect: تشکر، استاد صاحب.

Put ببخشید before a question to a stranger: ببخشید، تشناب کجا است؟ Say it alone, with a name, when you step on someone's foot or arrive late.

In Iran people say ممنون and مرسی. Dari says تشکر, so use it with everyone, at home or abroad.
