es (passiva pronominal)
Pronominal Passive with Es
A pronominal passive uses es and a verb agreeing with the thing affected.
How It Works
Es ven una casa and es venen dues cases leave the seller unmentioned. The noun phrase is the passive subject, so formal agreement makes the verb singular or plural accordingly. This is not the same structure as an intransitive impersonal sentence such as es viu bé.
The passive reading works with transitive verbs and foregrounds an action affecting something. Context may also allow a genuinely reflexive interpretation of es with other verbs, so identify what the subject can actually do.
An explicit personal agent is usually better expressed with an active clause or a ser passive. Do not combine es and a per-agent mechanically as though every passive pattern had identical possibilities.
