Conventional legal prepositional phrases delimit a document’s basis, effect or preserved rights.
How It Works
De conformitat amb names the rule or instrument followed; en virtut de names a legal basis or authority; sens perjudici de indicates that the stated action does not prejudice another specified matter. Their meanings are not interchangeable versions of according to.
Keep the fixed final preposition and ordinary article forms: de conformitat amb la llei, en virtut de l'acord, sens perjudici del recurs. The noun phrase after the final preposition supplies the basis, authority or matter preserved by the formula.
Use the formula only when the relation is genuinely intended. If a plainer expression preserves the document's required precision, it can improve readability. Do not add ornate formulas merely to make a statement sound official.
