How It Works
La compra i la venda públiques presents purchase and sale as two coordinated feminine nouns described by one plural adjective. Repeating the article reinforces their separate status. A singular compound such as la compravenda is a different noun, not evidence that two written nouns always take singular agreement.
Some tightly connected coordinated singulars permit a unitary reading and singular agreement in context. Do not generalize that possibility to unrelated abstract nouns merely because both describe administration or ideas.
If a shared adjective's scope is unclear, repeat the adjective or rewrite the phrase. Formal clarity matters more than compressing every pair into the shortest possible wording.
