htio sam
Wanted: Htio
Htio sam means I wanted. The verb changes for gender and number.
How It Works
The past of htjeti has the stem htj- in most forms. Only the masculine singular is shorter: htio.
| singular | plural | |
|---|---|---|
| masculine | htio | htjeli |
| feminine | htjela | htjele |
| neuter | htjelo | htjela |
It is a perfect tense, so you need a form of biti: htio sam, htio si, htio je, htjeli smo, htjeli ste, htjeli su.
After it you usually add an infinitive or da and a present form: Htio sam doći or Htio sam da dođem.
The negative is nisam htio, for example Nisam htio kafu (I did not want coffee).
In Bosnian the ijekavian forms are htio and htjela. The ekavian forms hteo and htela are Serbian.
