mene meni mnom
Personal Pronouns in the Cases
The long forms of ja and ti show up after prepositions and when you stress them.
How It Works
You already know the short forms me, te, mi, ti. The long forms are for after prepositions and for stress.
| Case | ja | ti |
|---|---|---|
| genitive | mene | tebe |
| dative | meni | tebi |
| accusative | mene | tebe |
| locative | meni | tebi |
| instrumental | mnom | tobom |
Examples: Amir živi blizu mene (genitive), Selma priča o tebi (locative), Ide sa mnom (instrumental).
Use the long form for stress: Zovi mene, ne njega. Sa mnom is the usual spelling, and s mnom is also written.
The short forms still go in the second place of the clause: Zove me. Use the long form only after a preposition or when you stress the person.
