Add जी after a name or a family word to be respectful.

How It Works

जी is written as a separate word after a name in most cases: मनोज जी, चाचा जी. Close family words such as बाबूजी are written as one word.

A person you call जी is a respected person. For a man, use the respectful verb बाड़ें. A woman keeps her usual form बाड़ी, and जी itself shows the respect.
