से for Comparing

Comparing with से

Level 2Sounds Like sē (tulanā)

Put से after the thing you compare with.

How It Works

The pattern is: A B से adjective अहै.

  • अमित नेहा से लंबा अहै. (Amit is taller than Neha.)
  • ई घर ओहि घर से बड़ा अहै. (This house is bigger than that one.)

The adjective does not change for gender if it is short: ई घर नेहा कै घर से छोट अहै. An adjective in -आ agrees: नेहा अमित से लंबी अहै.

सबसे means the most: ई सबसे नीक किताब अहै (this is the best book). Add तनिक for "a little": तनिक बड़ा (a little bigger).

There is no special -er ending. The adjective stays as it is, and से does the comparing. Hindi uses से as well.
