কাৰ
Whose
কাৰ means “whose”: এইটো কাৰ ফোন? “whose phone is this?”.
How It Works
কাৰ asks who owns something. It works like মোৰ “my” or তাইৰ “her”, but the owner is not known.
| Where | Example |
|---|---|
| before the noun | এইটো কাৰ ফোন? “Whose phone is this?” |
| at the end | এই কেমেৰাটো কাৰ? “Whose camera is this?” |
| after a pointing word and a noun | সেইখন কিতাপ কাৰ? “Whose book is that?” |
To answer, use the owner with -ৰ, as in ৰিনাৰ ফোন “Rina’s phone”, or use মোৰ “mine”.
কাৰ asks about the owner and কি asks about the thing itself. So এইটো কি? means “what is this?” and এইটো কাৰ? means “whose is this?”.
