Stressing a Word: -ই
-ই stresses one word: সকলোৱেই শুলে “everyone, without exception, slept” and তুমি নিজেই কামটো নকৰা কিয়? “why don’t you do the work yourself?”.
How It Works
-ই is an ending that points at one word and says “just this one” or “exactly”. It goes on the word, with no space.

The shape follows the last sound of the word, so learners meet -েই, -ৱেই and -য়েই too. Treat them all as the same ending.
