Proverb: If You Are Good, The World Is Good
আপোন ভালেই জগত ভাল means “if you are good yourself, the world is good”.
How It Works
| Word | Meaning |
|---|---|
| আপোন | “oneself, own” |
| ভালেই | “being good” with the focus ending |
| জগত | “world” |
| ভাল | “good” |
The saying has a longer form with two halves: জী ভালেই জোৱাই ভাল, আপোন ভালেই জগত ভাল “if the daughter is good, even a bad son-in-law can be made good; if you are good yourself, the world is good”.
In plain words: যি মানুহ নিজে ভাল, তেওঁ আনকো ভাল দেখে “a person who is good himself sees others as good too”.
The ending -েই on ভালেই stresses the word before it. The verb “is” is left out.
