অথচ

Yet and Even So: অথচ

অথচ means “yet”: তাইৰ ডাঙৰ ঘৰ আছে অথচ শান্তি নাই “she has a big house, yet no peace”.

How It Works

The word marks a clash: someone has a thing and lacks another, or two facts do not fit together. Anyone who reads the first part expects something else, and অথচ turns to the surprise.
