-ishi bilan
As Soon as
Verb + -ish + possessive + bilan = as soon as: kelishi bilan (as soon as he came), tugatishim bilan (as soon as I finish).
How It Works
Use -ishi bilan when the second action follows the first one immediately.
1. Building it
Make the -ish verb noun, add a possessive ending for the person who does it, then bilan:
- kelishim bilan (as soon as I come or came)
- kelishing bilan (as soon as you come, familiar)
- kelishi bilan (as soon as he, she or it comes)
- kelishimiz bilan (as soon as we come)
- kelishingiz bilan (as soon as you come, polite)
After a vowel, the verb noun is just -sh: boshla- → boshlashi bilan (as soon as it starts).
2. The person must match
The ending tells you who does the first action, and it can differ from the main subject: Qoʻngʻiroq chalinishi bilan bolalar chiqib ketdi. As soon as the bell rang, the children ran out. When you do both actions yourself, both need your person: Uyga kelishim bilan uxlab qoldim.
3. Past, present and future
The -ishi bilan part never changes for tense. The last verb decides it: kelishi bilan uxladi (as soon as he came, he slept), tugatishim bilan qoʻngʻiroq qilaman (as soon as I finish, I will call).
4. Extra emphasis with -oq
Adding -oq gives bilanoq, the very moment: Poyezd toʻxtashi bilanoq yoʻlovchilar tusha boshladi.
5. A look-alike to avoid
With the past participle, -gani bilan means although: Uyga kelgani bilan dam olmadi means although he came home, he did not rest. Only the -ish form means as soon as. For a less immediate after, use -gach or -gandan keyin.

Common Mistakes
Using -gani bilan, which means although, instead of -ishi bilan.
Uyga kelgani bilan uxlab qoldi. (meaning: As soon as he got home, he fell asleep.)Uyga kelishi bilan uxlab qoldi.-gani bilan is read as although he came home. For as soon as, use the -ish verb noun: kelishi bilan.
Keeping the third person ending when you did the first action yourself.
Uyga kelishi bilan uxlab qoldim. (meaning: As soon as I got home, I fell asleep.)Uyga kelishim bilan uxlab qoldim.Kelishi bilan means as soon as he or she came, so the sentence says someone else came home. Use your own ending: kelishim.
