How It Works

The expression can contrast two places, people, methods or claims. Identify what اس refers to before interpreting the new statement.

The contrast can correct an expectation, but it does not always deny the first statement. Two routes can differ in safety or length while both descriptions remain true.

Compare اس کے باوجود: that construction acknowledges an obstacle but says the result happened anyway. اس کے برعکس sets up an opposing comparison.

    The actual experience contrasts with the expectation.

  4. مریم تفصیل سے منصوبہ بناتی ہے؛ اس کے برعکس بلال پہلے کام شروع کر دیتا ہے۔

    Maryam plans in detail; by contrast, Bilal starts the work first.

    The comparison concerns two approaches to a task.
