How It Works

The compound uses feminine کی because of جگہ. It does not agree with the gender of the person or item that is replaced.

Pronouns use forms such as میری جگہ and آپ کی جگہ. These can describe taking over a task or occupying someone’s actual place.

Keep the two roles clear: the replacement appears elsewhere in the sentence. Reversing the nouns changes what is being substituted for what.
