Conceding a Point Before a Contrast
Granted that this is true → but consider this too.
How It Works
مانا کہ introduces a point the speaker is willing to grant. لیکن then adds a limitation, contrast, or further consideration.
In this fixed introductory use, مانا does not change to مانی because the speaker is female. It frames the following claim rather than acting as an ordinary gendered report about the speaker.
The two clauses each keep their own subject and tense. The speaker may concede a real fact or temporarily accept a point for discussion.
Examples (4)
Granted, the price is high, but the quality is good too.
The high price is conceded before another consideration is added.
Granted, we arrived late, but the meeting has not started yet.
The second clause limits the consequence of arriving late.
Granted, this method is easy, but it does not work everywhere.
An advantage does not establish universal usefulness.
Granted, she is experienced, but she needs help too.
The concession does not erase the remaining need.
