How It Works

تھوڑا پانی means a little water; پانی is masculine. تھوڑی چائے uses the feminine form with tea.

For several masculine items, use تھوڑے گھر. With feminine plural چابیاں, use تھوڑی چابیاں in this quantity pattern.

Before a postposition, the noun may be oblique: تھوڑے پانی میں means in a little water. Keep the quantity phrase together.

Do not use one ending for every small amount. Learn the gender and number of the noun being measured.
