Dual Forms Beyond the Subject
Dual inflection continues in oblique cases, although some forms coincide with plural forms.
How It Works
Dual inflection continues in oblique cases, although some forms coincide with plural forms. Compare prijateljema in dative/instrumental and prijateljev in genitive; shared form does not mean shared number in the sentence.
The nominative dual dva prijatelja changes to dative dvema prijateljema and instrumental z dvema prijateljema. Genitive dveh prijateljev shares its noun form with plural genitive, but dveh keeps the exact count of two visible.
