How It Works
| Masculine | Feminine | Masculine plural | Feminine plural |
|---|---|---|---|
| nòu | nòva | nòus | nòvas |
| blau | blava | blaus | blavas |
| grèu | grèva | grèus | grèvas |
The adjective goes after the noun and agrees with it: un sac grèu, una valisa grèva, de sacs blaus.
Two words you may already know follow this pattern: blau (blue) and nòu (new).
Grèu keeps its grave accent in every form: grèu, grèva, grèus, grèvas.
Learned words in -iu work the same way: actiu, activa (active). In every pair, the v comes back when a vowel ending is added.
