An echo word copies a word and changes its first sound. The copy has no meaning of its own. Together the two words mean the thing and anything like it.

The new first sound is usually स. Echo words fit questions and negatives best: चिया-सिया केही छैन means there is no tea or anything.
Use them with friends and family. They sound too casual for a news report or a letter.

खाना-साना केही means any food at all, here in a negative sentence.

Do you want water or anything?
पानी-सानी is a friendly, casual offer.
