Whether ... or
चाहे means whether ... or: चाहे पानी परोस्, चाहे घाम लागोस् is whether it rains or the sun shines.
How It Works
चाहे opens two cases and then makes a statement that holds for both. The verbs in the cases take the -ओस् form, which sounds like a wish or a let-it-be: परोस् (let it rain), लागोस् (let the sun shine), होस् (let it be).
| Case | With -ओस् |
|---|---|
The main clause comes after both cases. It says what stays the same:
A relaxed way to say the same thing is to repeat
