र links two words or phrases of the same kind.
How It Works
र means and. It joins two words, and it stays a separate word.

When र joins two doers, the verb agrees with them together. म र मेरो साथी includes me, so it means we and the verb is जान्छौँ. सरिता र रमेश means they, so it is -छन्.
At Level 1 र joins words and short phrases only. Joining whole sentences comes at Level 2.
In a list of items, Nepali usually puts र between the last two items: चिया, दूध र चिनी.

Common Mistakes
Using a singular verb after two doers.
म र मेरो साथी बजार जान्छु।म र मेरो साथी बजार जान्छौँ।म with another person means we, so the verb is -छौँ.
