mangi- / nangi-
Actor Actions with Mangi-
Mangibael describes contemplated carrying; nangibael describes completed carrying.
How It Works
The dictionary licenses mangi- with bael, ‘carry,’ and directly attests completed nangibael. Compare mangibael, ‘will carry,’ with nangibael, ‘carried.’ Both select the carrier as actor. A personal name uses central marking, while a dependent actor pronoun attaches to its host.
An object complement identifies what is carried. A time phrase separately locates the action. Another attested form, mangisursuro, means ‘be teaching’; its copied sur belongs to its ongoing formation. Beginning with mangi- alone therefore does not establish contemplated aspect.
