nang-
Completed Mang- Actions
Compare mangan, contemplated eating, with nangan, completed eating.
How It Works
Nang- forms completed counterparts in the mang- actor-focus family. The dictionary explicitly pairs these prefixes and lists nangan as the completed partner of mangan. Completed eating is presented as an accomplished event; the eater remains the selected participant.
A named actor can use ni, while a dependent actor pronoun attaches to the verb. Food can appear in an iti phrase. In Nanganak iti ikan idi kalman, -ak identifies the eater and idi kalman separately supplies yesterday’s time reference.
Learn complete lexical forms rather than replacing the first letters of any unfamiliar verb. Nasal changes depend on the base and its licensed formation. Completed aspect describes an event stage; it does not explain every situation translated with an English past tense.
Examples (3)
- Nangan ni Rosa iti saba.
Rosa ate a banana.
Rosa is the selected actor of completed eating.
- Nanganak iti ikan idi kalman.
I ate fish yesterday.
-ak identifies the actor; idi kalman supplies the time.
- Nangankami iti innapoy.
We, excluding you, ate cooked rice.
Kami identifies an exclusive plural actor and attaches in the selected modern spelling.
