Replying to a Greeting
Same greeting back, or a short answer.
How It Works
Most greetings are matched.
| They say | You say |
|---|---|
| Ndewo. | Ndewo. |
| Ụtụtụ ọma. | Ụtụtụ ọma. |
| Kedu ka ị mere? | Adị m mma, daalụ. |
After the answer, you can ask back: Kedu ka ị mere?
Match the time of day if you can. Add a name to be warm.
A question such as Kedu ka ị mere? needs an answer, and a plain greeting such as Ndewo or Ụtụtụ ọma is returned in the same words. The answer Adị m mma uses dị with m.
