Prices in Naira
naịra + number.
How It Works
Naịra is a borrowed word written in Igbo letters.
| Say | Meaning |
|---|---|
| naịra abụọ | two naira |
| naịra iri | ten naira |
| Naịra ole ka ọ bụ? | How many naira is it? |
| Ọ bụ naịra narị ise. | It is five hundred naira. |
Notice the dotted ị. The word stays the same for one or many.
Larger amounts use the big numbers: naịra narị ise “five hundred naira”. The money word comes first, then the number, in the same order as other counted nouns.
