Adjective Before or After

Level 1

Usually before the noun. After the noun it is often emphasized.

How It Works

A direct description can stand before the noun or after it. Before is the usual place.

UsualWith emphasis on the adjective
granda domodomo granda
la nova librola libro nova
bona amikoamiko bona

An adjective after its noun is often emphasized. The article la always stands first: la libro nova. The adjective copies the -j and -n of the noun in both places: domon grandan, grandan domon.

Two adjectives can stand together before the noun: bela nova domo. Both belong to the noun, and both copy its -j and -n.
