اینها و آنها
These and Those
آنها also means they, so one word names far things and people.
How It Works
| One | Many |
|---|---|
| این (this) | اینها (these) |
| آن (that) | آنها (those, they) |
| این کتاب (this book) | این کتابها (these books) |
| آن دکان (that shop) | آن دکانها (those shops) |
اینها and آنها stand alone: اینها شاگرد استند. Before a noun, only the noun takes ـها, so you say این کتابها (these books).
آنها for people means they: آنها دوست من استند. For far things it means those: آنها دکان استند. The sentence shows which one.
اینها and آنها take the plural verb استند. When they name things, a singular است is also correct. A single thing takes است.
Type a half-space inside the word: اینها, not این ها.
