jesti → jedem
Present of Jesti
Use jedem, jedeš, jede, jedemo, jedete and jedu for the present of jesti. Jedu is the third-person plural form.
How It Works
Jedem kruh. means I am eating bread or I eat bread. Context can indicate an activity happening now or a habit, as in Svaki dan jedem voće.
The verb can take an accusative food object, such as jedem juhu, or appear without an explicit object: Djeca jedu. An omitted food object does not make the sentence incomplete.
The imperative jedi and past participle jeo/jela belong to separate forms of the same verb. A perfective partner such as pojesti changes the aspectual viewpoint; its use is not a spelling variant of jesti.
