neću + Infinitive
Negative Future
The negative future uses neću, nećeš, neće, nećemo, nećete and neće with an infinitive. Each negative auxiliary is written as one word.
How It Works
Neću kasniti. means I will not be late. The infinitive remains complete after the negative auxiliary. Do not add a second future form or change kasniti to a present-tense form.
The forms follow person and number: neću for I, nećeš for informal singular you, neće for a third-person singular subject, then nećemo, nećete, neće in the plural.
Context can make neću express unwillingness, like English I won’t. It can also simply predict that an event will not happen. If the distinction is important, an explicit desire verb such as ne želim clarifies unwillingness. Negative future grammar itself does not require an emotion or refusal.
