Yes and No Questions
Yes/no questions can keep statement word order and use question intonation.
How It Works
Tens temps? uses the same verb and subject structure as tens temps. Written Catalan marks the question at the end; there is no English-style do or does inserted before the verb. An explicit subject is possible when it adds useful information or contrast.
A question can have an omitted subject, as in vols cafè?, because the verb identifies tu. Subject placement can vary with context and emphasis, so inversion is possible but not a compulsory recipe. Listen to the intonation of the whole sentence.
Answer sí or no, or repeat a useful part of the question: sí, en tinc; no, no puc. Written sí meaning yes has an accent, while conditional si meaning if does not. Negative questions follow the ordinary no-before-verb order.
