més...que / menys...que
More and Less than
Use més or menys before the compared quality or quantity, then que for the comparison.
How It Works
És més alt que jo compares height, while treballa menys que abans compares the amount of work. Més and menys do not change for gender or number. The adjective itself still agrees: les cases són més altes que els arbres.
With nouns, put the noun after més or menys: tinc més llibres que tu. With a verb alone, the comparison word follows it: dorm menys que abans. The second part can be a noun phrase, an adverb or a clause, as long as the comparison is understandable.
Some qualities use special forms: millor means better and pitjor means worse. Do not normally add més before these comparatives. For equality, change to tan/tant ... com; que here marks inequality, not the equality relationship.
