a (destinació i hora)
A for Destination and Clock Time
A introduces many destinations, locations and clock times.
How It Works
Use a before a city destination or location: vaig a Girona, soc a Girona. With casa in the home expression, no article is needed: torno a casa. With a definite masculine noun, contract a + el to al and a + els to als.
Destination and clock-time phrases can occur in the same clause: anem al museu a les deu. Al contains the article for museu; a les stays separate because les is feminine plural. Casa in the home expression commonly remains articleless.
A city name normally follows a directly: arribem a Barcelona. For an endpoint rather than a simple destination, fins a can make the limit explicit: caminarem fins a la plaça. Do not translate English at or in mechanically; compare a Barcelona with en un calaix, whose indefinite containment phrase uses en in the model taught here.

- Torno a casa aviat.

- Ens veiem al museu a la una.
