Present of -iti Verbs
Take off -iti and add -im, -iš, -i, -imo, -ite, -e.
How It Works
Verbs ending in -iti have their own present endings. Remove -iti and add:
| Person | Form |
|---|---|
| ja | radim |
| ti | radiš |
| on, ona, ono | radi |
| mi | radimo |
| vi | radite |
| oni, one, ona | rade |
Other verbs in this group: govoriti (speak), učiti (learn, study) and voziti (drive). Verbs in -jeti such as voljeti and vidjeti take the same endings: volim, vidim, vole, vide.
The last form is the one learners trip on. In the -ati group, oni ends in -aju. In the -iti group, oni ends in -e: oni rade, oni govore.
Most of these verbs are simple: platiti gives platim and pustiti gives pustim. Check a new verb in the dictionary when you are unsure.
