evo
Evo means "here it is" and points to something close to the speaker.
How It Works
Evo is the word you use when you give something to someone or show where it is.
- With a short pronoun: Evo ga. (Here he or it is.) Evo me. (Here I am.) Evo nas. (Here we are.)
- With a thing you offer: Evo kafe. Evo računa. The noun is often in the genitive, and speech varies.
- When you hand something to a person: Evo vam, izvolite. Evo ti is the friendly form.
Evo points to something near the speaker. Related words point elsewhere: eto for something near the listener and eno for something farther away. For now, evo is enough.
You can also use it without a noun, to start an answer: Evo, gotovo je. (There, it is done.)
