Ordering a Drink

Level 1

Order with Molim plus the thing you want, or name it and add molim.

How It Works

In a kafana or café you need only a few words. Place your order, then use molim, which means "please".

You wantYou say
a coffeeMolim kafu. or Jednu kafu, molim.
a teaJedan čaj, molim.
waterVodu, molim. or Jednu vodu, molim.
the billRačun, molim.

After Molim a feminine word takes -u: kafa becomes kafu, voda becomes vodu. Masculine words for things stay the same: čaj, sok, račun.

Use vi with a waiter you do not know: Molim vas. With friends you can use Molim te.

In Sarajevo, kafa often comes in a džezva with a piece of rahat-lokum and a glass of water.

    Molim kafa.
    Molim kafu.
