Days of the Week
The days are ponedjeljak, utorak, srijeda, četvrtak, petak, subota and nedjelja, written with a small letter.
How It Works
Here are the days, in order from Monday.
| Bosnian | English |
|---|---|
| ponedjeljak | Monday |
| utorak | Tuesday |
| srijeda | Wednesday |
| četvrtak | Thursday |
| petak | Friday |
| subota | Saturday |
| nedjelja | Sunday |
All seven are written with a small letter inside a sentence. The word for week is sedmica. Nedjelja means Sunday. You may also hear ove nedjelje for this week in loose speech, but this course uses sedmica for week.
To say that something happens on a day, use u and the accusative: u ponedjeljak, u utorak, u srijedu, u četvrtak, u petak, u subotu, u nedjelju. Days that end in -a change to -u.
