bio nso (Moreover)
Moreover: Bio Nso
Bio nso, + a new point = Moreover, ... or Also, ...: Bio nso, ɛsɛ sɛ yɛkae yɛn nananom (Moreover, we must remember our ancestors).
How It Works
1. Where it goes
Bio nso usually opens the sentence, often after na in stories and scripture: Na bio nso, ... (And moreover, ...). It can also follow the verb it adds to: Yɛgye di bio nso sɛ ... (We also believe that ...).
2. Where you hear it
It belongs to planned speech: announcements, Radio and News Twi, sermons, school essays and Opening a Formal Speech. A government minister on Twi radio listed road rules this way: Bio nso, ɛsɛ sɛ mohyɛ helmet (Also, you must wear a helmet). In relaxed talk, people more often just add nso after a word or start with na.
3. Adding, not contrasting
Bio nso adds a point that pushes the same way. For a point that goes against the last one, use But: nanso.
4. Similar openers
Afei nso (and next, also) works in much the same way and is common in speeches; see Now, Next: afei. In older and church writing, a plain Bio, at the start of a sentence can also mean in addition.

Also, you must wear a helmet.

Here bio nso follows the verb it adds to.
Common Mistakes
Using bio nso for a contrast (intended: He is poor, but he is generous).
Ɔyɛ ohiani, bio nso ɔyɛ ayamye.Ɔyɛ ohiani, nanso ɔyɛ ayamye.Bio nso adds a point in the same direction. Being poor and being generous pull against each other, so the link is nanso (but).
