Was Doing
The joining form with रहल and a past of to be says what was happening.
How It Works
The joining form is the verb with -ि (पढ़ि, देखि, आबि), or the stem itself for vowel stems such as जा, खा and बना.
| Person | Example |
|---|---|
| a plain person or thing | बरखा भऽ रहल छल |
Use it when something else happened in the middle: (When he came, I was eating).
For a habit, use the -ैत form instead. The present of this pattern is पढ़ि रहल छी, taught earlier. Only the helper changes.
