Adjectives That Never Change
Some adjectives never change: браон ципели (brown shoes), беж палто (beige coat), супер идеја (great idea).
How It Works
One form for everything.
- браон појас, браон јакна, браон палто, браон ципели
- беж палто, розе фустан, мини здолниште
- супер идеја, супер филм
The article. Normally the article goes on the first word of the phrase, as in новиот фустан; see the article on the first word. An unchanging adjective cannot take it, so it goes on the noun: Каде ми се браон ципелите? Беж палтата никогаш не излегуваат од мода.
After сум. They also stay the same after сум: Ципелите се браон. Филмот е супер. See adjectives after be.
Супер in other roles. Супер is informal. In formal writing, use одличен or прекрасен instead. Супер also works as an adverb and as an exclamation: Супер изгледаш! (You look great!) Супер, ќе одиме на екскурзија!
Colours that do change. Many colours are ordinary adjectives: кафен, кафена (brown), розов, розова (pink). So you can say кафена чанта or браон чанта, розова or розе. Only the borrowed forms stay the same. See adjective agreement.

Common Mistakes
Adding agreement endings to an unchanging adjective.
Ги купив браоните ципели.Ги купив браон ципелите.Браон has only one form. The article and the plural go on the noun: браон ципелите.
Making супер agree with a feminine noun.
Тоа е суперна идеја.Тоа е супер идеја.Супер does not change for gender. Use it as it is with every noun.
